Set in the picturesque foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains near the beautiful town of Luray, Virginia, this region offers the new Shenandoah Valley Sprint on Saturday, June 5th, the Luray International race on Saturday, August 14th and the Luray Sprint on Sunday, August 15th with a special hand-engraved goblet for individual athletes who complete the “Luray Double.”
The races take place Lake Arrowhead Park, a 134-acre recreation area located 4 miles outside the Luray town limits. Built in the early 1970’s, the park has a 34-acre lake with fishing, boating, and a white sand beach for swimming. 2 miles of hiking trails take visitors through wooded areas with one trail that circles the entire lake. 6 picnic shelters, playground areas, and handicapped accessible restrooms help make Lake Arrowhead an ideal place for a triathlon!
