Now in its 13th year,
The Luray Triathlon® is a Partnership with the Local Page Valley Community
the Luray Triathlon was voted the Best Triathlon of 2013 in the Mid-Atlantic Region
by readers of Competitor Magazine
The Luray Triathlon® was founded in 2006 by long-time triathlete David Glover with the goal to create a “Win-Win-Win” event for the community, the volunteers and the athletes. Beginning with 460 athletes registered the first year in 2006 with both races held on a single day, the triathlons now attract more than 1,400 athletes over two days.
The Luray Triathlon is produced by Ken Racine (Racine MultiSports) in partnership with the Town of Luray, Page County, United Way of Nothern Shenandoah Valley, and the Luray-Page County Chamber of Commerce.
Ever since the inaugural race, the Luray and Page County communities have embraced the Luray Triathlon and its participants, making the Luray International and Sprint triathlons the best community supported and most welcoming triathlons in the mid-Atlantic regions.
There will be five exciting and challenging races in 2018.
> Luray International Triathlon presented by Page County – August 19, 2018
> Luray International Duathlon – August 18, 2018
> Luray Sprint Triathlon – August 19, 2018
> Luray Sprint Duathlon – August 19, 2018
There will be a special “Hawksbill Double” award given to all athletes who complete both triathlons or both duathlons (as individuals) on race weekend. In 2017, 73 athletes earned this coveted award.
> Swim Fest Luray – June 16, 2018
There will also be multiple open water practice swims in Lake Arrowhead throughout the season.
Geared towards athletes of all levels, the Offical Luray Triathlon Open Water Swim and Transition Clinic will be held on July 28, 2018.
